Facts and Events
William Gobby was baptised on 26th March 1837 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, son of a straw plaiter named Esther Gobby. William's father's identity is not known. William appears in the 1841 census living with his mother, siblings and aunt's family at Woburn Street in Toddington.
Esther died in 1848, when William was eleven years old. After his mother's death, William went to live with his mother's brother Joseph Gobby. The 1851 census finds William and his brother John living with their uncle Joseph and his family at Parsons End in Toddington.
William has yet to be researched after the 1851 census.
