Facts and Events
John Gobby was baptised on 26th May 1833 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, son of a straw plaiter named Esther Gobby. John's father's identity is not known. John appears in the 1841 census living at Woburn Street in Toddington with his mother, siblings and his aunt's family.
Esther died in 1848, when John was fifteen years old. After his mother's death, John went to live with his mother's brother Joseph Gobby. The 1851 census finds John and his brother William living with their uncle Joseph and his family at Parsons End in Toddington.
John has yet to be researched after the 1851 census.
