Pulaski Democrat, 1 Jan 1930: WILLIAM GAY The death of William Gay, life long resident of the Pine Meadow district in the town of Orwell, occurred at his home at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of Christmas day. Mr. Gay had been in declining health for the past three years. He was born in the town of Redfield, December 11, 1853. His parents died when he was a young child and he was brought up in the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Durgee in Pine Meadows. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Chloe Kinney Gay; two sons, Walter of Richland and Wiley who lives in his parents' home; four daughters, Mrs. Harry Himes, Glendale CA, Mrs. A.C. McChesney, Ricard, Mrs. Geo. March, Pulaski, and Mrs. Clarence Snow, Baldwinsville; one sister, Mrs. Julia Roser, Ricard. The funeral was held from the home last Saturday afternoon, Rev. Sleeman, Altmar, officiating. The body was placed in the vault at the Altmar cemetery.
