William Fowler died Milford 1683. He married/1 1645 Mary Tapp dau of Edmund and Anna. He married/2 1 November 1670 (Milford Vital Records) Mrs. Elizabeth (Alsop) Baldwin widow of Richard. He was first in New Haven, and removed to Milford, as a freeplanter with lot # 41 of 7 acres 2 rods on east side of River. He was a very important man in the founding of Milford. One of the 7 pillars of the church, a judge, also in 1643 a Deputy to the General Court. In 1640 he was granted, land on the Wepawaug River to build and operate the first grist mill in New Haven Colony.
