William Ewing, Aug. 15, 1780, Jan. 14, 1857, commissioned captain of cavalry, 116th regiment, Rockingham Militia, Aug. 19, 1812, and served in the war of 1812-1814; married Elizabeth Bryan, daughter of Maj.
