On 7 1st month [March] [1645/6], "Willyam Douglesse a cooper and Anne his wife" were admitted to the Church of Boston, and on the following day had their children Elizabeth, Sarah, and William baptized there [Pierce, Richard D., The Records of the First Church in Boston, 1630-1868, 1:45, 303]. On 28 5th month [July] 1657, he was admitted an inhabitant of Boston [Boston Town Records, Boston Rec. Comm. Report, 2:139]. Shortly thereafter he moved to New London, Connecticut, where he purchased land in 1659 and where he remained for the rest of his life.
