Will Abstract

Will of William Dillon, dated 27 Dec 1739, probated 15 May 1744, Goochland County, VA Deed Book 4, p 355.
William Dillon and Mary Dillon were appointed executors in May 1744 per Goochland County, VA Order Book 5, (1741-1744), p 387.
William left son William 150 acres of the northern part of his estate, son Henry 150 acres of the same estate with the plantation, grandson James Dillon 100 acres, grandson William Sammon to receive the 100 acres left to James if he died without heir, and wife Mary to receive his personal estate and plantation during her life. After the death of Mary the personal estate was to be equally divided between his two sons William Dillon and Henry Dillon and his two daughters Sarah Dillon and Judith Dillon. The will indicates that there were only four children but yet he called his daughters by the name Dillon and certainly a daughter was married to a Sammon and had a son William.
There could have been two other married daughters.
He also requested that the estate not be appraised.
