Gravestone inscription Earls Croome Church: In Loving memory of William T Davies who died Aug 21 1917 aged 45. 'Thy will be done' Also of Martha wife of the above who died July 26th 1941 Aged 68. At Rest Also of Annie Mary Davies who died June 28 1953 Aged 45 RIP. He is reputed to have died of pneumonia following getting soaked in a storm. Index entry in the Probate Register. Transcript of William Thomas Davies' Will. This is the last Will and Testament of me William Thomas Davies of Northfield Farm, Hanley Castle in the County of Worcester farmer made this thirtieth day of December One thousand nine hundred and sixteen. I appoint William Smith of Station Road Old Hills Clerk and William Rimell of Hanley Castle aforesaid farmer (herinafter called my trustees) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will. I give and bequeath all my plate linen china glass books pictures prints furniture and all other my household effects unto my trustees. In trust to permit my wife to use and enjoy the same during her life and after her death I declare that the said articles shall fall into and form part of my residuary estate and I declare that my trustees shall not be bound to make an Inventory of the articles included in the foregoing bequest nor to see to the preservation of the said articles nor be answerable for any loss or injury which may happen thereto during the life of my said wife. I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate over which I have power to dispose of unto my trustees. In trust after payment thereout of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to permit the use and enjoyment of all such parts therof as shall not yield income and to pay the rents profits interest of all such parts thereof as shall for the time being yield income to my said wife during her life and after her death to pay and divide the residue thereof between my three children William Myrddin, Annie Mary and Margaret Evelyn in equal shares and proportions but in the event of my said wife passing away before my said children shall have attained the age of Twenty one years then and in such case the same shall be retained in trust until my youngest child shall have attained that age. Provided always that if any of my said children shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children who shall survive me and being a son or sons shall attain the age of Twenty one years or being a daughter or daughters shall attain that age or marry under that age then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the share which his her or their parents would have taken of and in the residuary trust funds if such parent had survived me and attained the age of Twenty one years. I revoke all former Wills at any time made by me. In witness whereof I have to this my last Will set my hand the day and year first herein before written. Signed by the said William Thomas Davies as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Geoge H. Bramford, Newbridge Green, Upton-on-Severn (Assistant Schoolmaster) John Francis Green Denley, Marshend Farm, Longdon, Tewkesbury (Farmer). On the 28th day of December 1917 Probate of this Will was granted at Worcester to William Thomas Smith one of the Executors.
