William Thomas Clothier enlisted at Maiden Newton and, after being wounded in action in 1917, he was posted to England for recuperation. He then returned to active service in France. Gunner William Thomas Clothier was probably killed in action during the Battle of Poelcappelle on 9th October 1918.
