"William Burnham, bp. Long Crendon 8 May 1580; bur. Long Crendon 18 April 1649, leaving a will dated 16 April 1649, proved 26 May 1649. As noted above, his will, which mentions no wife or children, names brother John Burnham of Chearsey and the latter's two sons, John Burnham of [Long] Crendon and Thomas Burnham of New England (and the tatter's son William). Other beneficiaries were children and grandchildren of Mary (Hobcraft) Symons, the testator's older half-sister. Executors were to be brother John Burnham and his son John Burnham. The testator possibly was the William Burnham who married Margaret George in Long Crendon 11 April 1605."
