"The young man had gone to the home of his neighbor, Mr. Charles Goss and carrying a double-barreled shotgun, was on his way home and as he was in the act of getting through a fence pulling the gun after him it was accidentally discharged, the shot penetrating his arm, side, nose, cheek and eye with most painful effect." (Lancaster Daily Eagle, Monday, 28 September 1908)
