William John Blietz, son of Charles and Louise Blietz, was born April 14, 1892, and departed this life on August 9, 1930, at the age of 38 years, 3 months, and 15 days. He was taken seriously ill on July 29 with pneumonia, which developed into more serious complications, resulting in his death. All his life, he lived true to the principles and and doctrines of the Catholic church and during his last agony had all the consolations which the Mother Church, through the merits of Christ, gives to the dying.

Mr. Blietz spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. On Nov. 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Lestina, who with three sons, Giles William, age 14, Marion Francis, age 12, and Roger Damian, age 2 1/2, mourn his untimely departure. He is also survived by his father, Mr. Chas. Blietz of Monona, three brothers, Albert of Carbondale, Ill., Joseph and Hugo of Monona, three sisters, Mrs. Augusta Tayek of McGregor, Mrs. Adeline Stiert of Monona, and Mrs. Melvina Snell of Buffalo Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Patrick's church, Father Vernon Peters sang the Requiem Mass and delivered a very instructive sermon. Father Donald Peters of Dubuque was also present in the sanctuary and assisted at the graveside. The Gregorian Requiem was chanted by the choir of St. Patrick's.

Out-of-town relative attending the funeral were Albert Blietz of Carbondale, Ill., Joseph Voss and family of Akron, Iowa, Marie Klima of Milwaukee, Wis., D.R. Snell and family of Buffalo Center, Louis Tuecke, Wm. Blietz and daughter of Garnavillo.
