William Berridge was baptised on 5th February 1809 at Benefield in Northamptonshire, son of Elizabeth Berridge, formerly Wright, and her husband John Berridge, an agricultural labourer. William was the youngest of the couple's seven children.

Sadly William died when he was only three years old, being buried at Benefield on 22nd September 1812.
