1901 - Living with parents in North Lopham village. Aged 3.

1916 - Called up at Attleborough on 29 May but failed to appear. There was a muddle with his papers. Had enlisted by 4 October when he transferred from Britannia Barracks, Norwich to Mechanical Transport Depot, A S C, Grove Park, Lee, London. Private 58669. Not much personal detail but Church of England and living at The Green, North Lopham. Previously an agricultural fitter.

1917 - With 94th T R Battalion 22nd Reserve Brigade in Janaury.

1918 - Received a gun shot wound to his shoulder in the field on 31 May. Serving in France.

1919 - Discharged from 16th Battalion R Warwicks (previously serving with Tank Corps). Transferred to the Army Reserve on 7 January.

1934 - Died aged 36. Buried with his father, also his mother (later).
