"Well Done"

Walter Joseph Svedin was born in Deeth, Nevada on December 29, 1926 to Paulus Svedin and Maude Ethel Barton. He married Gloria Jean Niederhauser on June 10th 1949.

He served a mission in the Northwestern States. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. He graduated from the Utah State Univ.

Walter was an active member of the LDS Church. He held many callings.

His favorite was working in the temple. Walter was a teacher and principal for many schools. He then went to work for the Government at Tooele Army Depot and in Germany. He retired from the Army Depot. Walter and his family were long time residents in Grantsville. They moved in 1995 to Salt Lake City.


Dad we've turned the heat down, turned off the lights and shut the door. We will miss you dearly.

Walter is survived by his wife(GLORIA), children Stephen (Tammy), Dennis (Kathleen), Lynn, Douglas (Arlis), Rebecca, Russell (Kathy), Dona (Randy) Haun, JoAnn (Todd) Kost, Aaron (Lisa), 43 grandchildren, three great-grand-children, brother Paulus Svedin, sisters Iona (Herbert) Uhlig, Della (William) Koons, Maude (James) Johnsen, Mary (Don) Longmore, Anna (Howard) Olson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 3, 2004, 12:00 noon at the Foothills Ward, 5017 West Grandview Peak Drive, Riverton, Utah. Family and friends may call from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the ward prior to service.
