Wallace J. Merriam, 84, a resident of Vermontville for 37 years, died Monday in Fort Wayne, Ind., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theresa VanBlarcum.
Mr. Merriam and his wife had gone to Fort Wayne last Fall to make their home.
Surviving besides his wife, Orpha, and the daughter, are two sisters, Mrs. Clem Shepard, of Nashville, and Mrs. Mae Porter, of Kalamazoo; and one brother, Truman, of Nashville, and one granddaughter.
Services were Wednesday from the Vermontville Methodist church with Rev. Marcius Taber officiating. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery.
