Obituary published in Times Argus on 21 Sep 2012 and found at http://www.timesargus.com/article/20120921/OBITUARIES/709219961/0/FEATURES12 CORINTH CORNER — Virginia M. “Jinny” Jackson, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Woodstock Terrace in Woodstock.

She was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Chelsea, the daughter of Arthur F. and Edythe (Davidson) Dickinson. She attended school in Connecticut, where she graduated in 1940, from Warren G. Harding High School in Bridgeport, Conn. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married James O. Jackson. They lived in Connecticut before moving to Corinth Corner in 1978. James died in 1987. Jinny worked at Weston Woods, which was an educational publishing company, and at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn.

She was a member of the United Church of Chelsea and the Chelsea Players Theater Group both of Chelsea. She was a volunteer at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She loved animals and enjoyed contributing to many animal support groups. She also enjoyed singing, music, dancing or “prancing,” as she called it, and was very active in her church.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Jackson of Woodstock and Thomas Jackson of Meriden, Conn.; a daughter, Judith Long of Needham, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Harcarik of Barkhamsted, Conn. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, James O. Jackson; a daughter, Lynn Zarnowski; a granddaugther, Victoria Long; a brother, Arthur Dickinson, Jr. and several half-brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT Route 110, Chelsea. A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home with the Rev. Deadra Ashton officiating. At Jinny’s request please wear your favorite bright colored outfit, no black please. The burial will be held immediately following the service at the Corinth Corner Cemetery in Corinth Corner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Chelsea, P.O. Box 98, Chelsea, VT 05038.
