Viola (Babe) Marie Schoonover was born Viola Marie Sims on Nov. 1, 1901 in Ames Oklahoma to Jacob M. Sims and Celia Bowman Sims. Viola (Babe) was married to Charles Edward Schoonover Dec. 20, 1919, in Enid. She was employed by Bass Memorial baptist Hospital as a linen and laundry supervisor for 40 years before retiring in 1972. Viola attended the First Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a longtime member of the 40 Et 8. She had four brothers, Homer, who died at the age of 16, Guy, Harold, and Lester, and two sisters Nettie and Jessie. Viola and Charles had four children, Evelyn Maurine, Charles LeRoy (Lee), Raymond Gerald (Jere), and Ronald Eugene (Toad). Viola and Charles lived at 702 W. Nagle, Enid, Oklahoma until their death.
