Carunchia Vincent J, 57, manager of the V&A Restaurant in Kendallville, died Tuesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Kingmont, W. Va., March 13, 1921 to Nick and Mary (Gargarella) Carunchia. He married Martha J. Traster July 5, 1941 in Kendallville. Coming to Kendallville in 1940 from W. Va., he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked at a foundry in Kendallville. He and his brother, Anthony, started the restaurant business in 1946. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Kiwanis Club, Kendallville Moose and Elks Lodges. Survivors include the widow; his parents; one daughter, Mrs. Mario (Patricia) Tarabella, Fort Wayne; two sons, Nick C., Kendallville, and Vincent J. Jr., San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Brown, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Caroline Morgan, Kingmont; three brothers, Anthony, Kendallville, Pat, Bonita Springs, Fla., and Joseph, Kingmont; seven grandchildren. Funeral mass will be today in Immaculate Conception Church, Kendallville. ~ 5-25-1978
