Obituary

Vickie M. Ashton passed away at 7 PM on 22 April 2012 at the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband of 40 years holding her hand. She was born Vickie Jean McCurry in Del Rio, Texas on 3 August 1943 to Herbert V. McCurry and Eula May Galyean McCurry (Miss Kitty). She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Ashton of Middleburg FL, son Shaun M. Ashton and his wife Nicole, their children Emily M., Connor D., Jedidiah J., Elijah J. Ashton of Middleburg, FL and son Steven T. Ashton and Shireen Hameed and their children William C. and Camden T. Ashton of St. Petersburg, FL.

Vickie was a unique individual who lived her life on her own terms. She loved her family, friends, and music. She loved animals as testified by her 3 dogs and 5 cats, pet fish and turtles in the pond in the back yard, and numerous bird feeders and bird baths placed around the property. She always wanted a retired cow, but we could not find room for one in the house. She also loved and cared for numerous plants and flowers.

She will be missed by her extended family and friends. Life is short so live it well!!

Private memorial services will be held at a date to be determined.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville FL 32257 or the American Cancer Society.
