    His parents and origins are unknown. m/1 Susan Lumber 10 Nov 1641 m/2 Joan widow of John Clapp 16 Jun 1655. Widow Ellis married (1) before 1620 _____ Ellis, and (2), probably before 1633, Lambert Genery. She died before 14 May 1658. … In the list of admissions to the (Dedham) church … The wife of Goodman Genery, 4 Dec. 1640." She brought two sons Richard Ellis and Joseph Ellis. John Ellis, Ann Ellis and Thomas Ellis were also in Dedham and Medfiled but it unknown if or how they were related to Widow Ellis and her two sons.
