Education: on 14 Nov 1539 Inner Temple Admitted as a student. Served as auditor, clerk of the kitchen, steward for the reader, serjeant for Christmas, and in other capacities (DNB) (Bindoff, History of Parliament).
Died on 1 Jul 1566 Stowford, Devonshire, Aged 52 . "died ... before parlement met again, his death during his term of office creating a precedent. (see D'Ewes pp 95 sq q). ...
By his wife Emlin or Emmeline, dau of Wm Crewes of 'Chimley' (?Chulmleigh), Devonshire, he left two sons - - John (d 1615) and Tho -- and three daughters."
