Biography

Thomas Watkins was born about 1715. He furnished supplies during the American Revolution. His son Thomas Watkins, Jr. was born about 1741 in Greene County, Georgia [sic] and married Sally Walton in Prince Edward County, Virginia on 6 February 1762. Thomas and Sally's son, George, was born in Wilkes County, Georgia in 1770. Thomas Watkins, Sr., died before 1 December 1783 in Henrico County, Virginia.[7]

Research Notes

Family Data Collection records have two places of birth listed[4] (one apparently Henrico County, as that location had been in the datafield), but same parents and dates. Locations all around seem off. Son's birth location, in Georgia, is not logical. Perhaps Greene County, Virginia was meant? But then grandson George is shown as born in Wilkes County, Georgia but his parents died elsewhere: Thomas in Henrico County (before July 1788) and Sally in Kentucky.[7]
