"3. Thomas2 Tracy, born [say 1644], died at Preston, Conn., in 1724 married Sarah _____.
He was named second, Mr. Thomas Parke being first, of those who petitioned in Oct. 1686 for the erection of a new plantation on the east of Norwich; this petition was granted Jan. 1686/7, whereby Thomas Tracy, Jr., became an original proprietor of the town of Preston. [Col. Rec. Conn. 3-220, 223.]
He was Deputy for Preston, May 1694, May 1696, Oct. 1700, May 1701, May 1705, May 1709, and May 1710. [Col. Rec. Conn. 4-121, 158, 328, 343, 499; 5-90, 142.]
He was an original member of the First Church in Preston in 1698, and with his wife one of the first communicants.
Thomas Tracy of Preston, in will dated 6 Apr. 1721, proved 23 Apr. 1724, gave his wife Sarah one-sixth of his estate during her widowhood, and made her sole Executrix; to sons Nathaniel, Jeremiah, Jedadiah, and Thomas, lands; to each of my daughters (Sarah, Jerushah), £60. Witnesses: Ricard Bushnell, Thos Leffingwell, Isaac Huntington. The inventory, taken 10 Mar. 1724, amounted to £104.02.11; Sarah Tracy, Widow, made oath. [New London Probate District, File No. 5361.]"
