The Will of Thomas Tenney

"On 22 June 1593, witnessed by Robert Chamberlaine, Brian Liell, John Bennett, and Edward Sargeant, Thomas Tenney 'of Great Lymber in the countie of Lincoln yeoman beinge sick in bodie,' made his will, as follows.

… I bequeath my soule to god and my bodie to be buried in the churche of Limber aforesaid, Item I give to Edward Tenney James Tenney and John Tenney my sonnes xx acres barley on cane hill xx acres in brakenburgh and xx acres Rie in fedow and brakenburgh Item I give to William Tenny my sonne xx li. and xx shepe Item I give to Alice and Isabell my daughters ether of them xx li. and xx shepe Item I give to every of Thomas Harrisons children a quarter barley Item I give to John Harrisons children eche of them a lambe Item I give to Isabell Corchener a quarter of bread corne and to ether of her children a lambe Item I give to Elizabeth Tenney two quarters of barley Item I give to John Bennet iiij stricks of Rie & to Roberte Mumbie iiij stricks Rie Item I give Thomas Harrison myne apparel and a quarter of breade corne Item to every of my servants a quarter of barly Item to Antonie Smyth an ewe Item to Edward Tenny ij oxen a cowe & a [e] Item to James Tenny ij oxen a cowe and vj shepe Item I give to John Tenny a cowe ij oxen and vj shepe and iiij horses betwene James and John Item I give to every of the residue of my children be[ ]e [ ] a[ ] calf All the rest of my goods not geven nor bequethed my debts and legacies discharged I give to Margaret my wife whom I make my full executrix & to se this my will performed I make George Skipwith esquire and James [Touler?] Supervisors and I give either of them for their paines ij weathers.

The will of Thomas Tenney was probated at Lincoln on 23 November 1593 before Thomas Rands, judge, by the executrix, who nominated James Tenney to serve in her place."[1]
