[Note: The similarity of this death date and that of his father, 14 Jan 1748[/49], is striking. In fact, Source:Stiles, Henry R. History and Genealogies of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut (1892), Vol. 2, p. 730, makes the obviously incorrect statement that this Thomas "d. 14 Jan, 1748, in his 80th yr", which would require a birth in 1669 or thereabouts. Since a death record is not apparent, one might suspect the death date in this source, 14 Jan 1778, is possibly a speculative attempt to reconcile Stiles with reality? (Reality being that Stiles says his will "executed" 11 Mar 1777 but no proved date is mentioned.)]
