Facts and Events
"Thomas came to Long Island at the age of 12, joined the Quaker religion. He purchased a tract of land from the Massapaque Indians. It lay between the towns of Jerusalem and Jeiko on Long Island and he names it Bethpage from the bible. In 1699, he purchased more land called the Rim o' Fire Purchase. This included all of what is now Central Park in New York City and what used to be called Jerusalem Station. The deed is now in the possession of the Long Island Historical Society. He also owned land in Oyster Bay and Farmingdale."[4] References
