Information on Thomas Parris

Thomas Parris was born Abt. 1677 in England, and died Bef. 1754 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He married Abigail Rogers Bef. 1697, daughter of Joseph Rogers and Abigail Barker. She was born About 1680 in London, England, and died December 11, 1713 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.

Abigail Rogers was born in that part of Duxbury which became Pembroke; she married, as his second wife, Thomas Parris (son of John, of London), who came to Long Island in 1683, married and moved to Boston, where his wife died, leaving one daughter, and older one having died in infancy: he came to Duxbury, now Pembroke in 1697, where he spend the rest of his life; he died in 1752: whether his wife survived him or not, has not been ascertianed.

  • Thomas Parris of Pembroke, sells to John Wadsworth of Duxbur y, one-fifth of forty acres in lot No. 43 of first division of common lands of Duxbury and Pembroke, 1710, conveyed Mar. 13, 1713-14. (Reg. of Deeds, Plym., Vol. 11, Page 120 and 121.)
  • Thomas Parris, Sr., conveys to Jacob Mitchell of Pem., 35 acres i n lot 144, second division of Dux. and Pem., common lands, bounded by land of John Ford's in a swamp to Indian line, and is south corner bound of land of Thomas Parris, Junr's, which he purchased of Jacob Mitchell; then east to Isaac Crooker's land; then northeast to first mentioned bound. (May 1, 1733, Ply. Reg. of Deeds, Vol. 28, Page 57).
