Facts and Events
Thomas Miles and wife Elizabeth conveyed by fine dated January 1569/1570 six acres of pasture with appurtenances in Great Munden to Richard Baker of Great Munden, for L40. Thomas Miles was not taxed at Great Munden or elsewhere in the neighborhood in the Lay Subsidies of 1571 and later years. There is no will for Thomas Miles or his wife Elizabeth among the regularly calendared records of the Archdeaconry Court of Huntingdon, but a will or administration might exist among the uncalendared records in the Probate Registry at Peterborough, where some of the Archdeaconry of Huntingdon probate records have been stored. Coddington and Jacobus hypothesize that Thomas Miles of Great Munden married Elizabeth Eacre of Ardeley, based on bequests in the will of their probable son Henry. The order of their children is uncertain. |
