Found their record of marriage in the Beckley Library, Heritage Room, Fayette County Marriages, 1830-1870 compiled by Pauline Haga. This source identifies the parents of Thomas and therefore, George M. S. McClanahan, as Stephen and Amelia (Milly) McClanahan, thereby verifying an ancestry world tree I found on the internet indicating the same.

The marriage record notes that Thomas, the groom, was a carpenter, and that the couple was married by Mathew Ellison.
