- In the Name of God Amen the Ninteenth Day of February [in the Year] of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty one I Thomas Lyall of the County in the State of North Carolina being sick and Weak of Body, ____ Mind and Memory, Thanks be given unto God, and Calling to mind my mortality, tat it is appointed to men to Die, do make this my Last will and Testament and Principly and first of all, I Recommend my Soul into the hand of God that gave it, hopeing through the Merits, Death and Posesion of my Lord and Saveorour [Savior] Jesus Christ, to have a full and free pardon of all my sins, and to Inherit Everlasting life, and my body I comend to the Earth to be Buried in Deceant Christian ~ Buriel at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named nothing Doubting but to Receive the same again at the Genneral Resurrection by the Mighty power of God. And as touching such Worldly Estate Wherewith it hase pleased God to Bles[s] me With in this life, I give, Devise, Bequeath and dispose of in the following Manner and form (Viz), I will that all those Just Debts and Duties as I do owe others in Right or conscience be paid as soon as may be after my Deceas by my Executors hereafter named.
- Item I give & Bequeath unto my Loveing Wife Mary one third part of all and Singuler my Estate both Real and personal dureing the Term of her Natureal life, and at her Death the said, moiety or third part aforesaid, to Descend, to my children to be Equally Devided amongst them Share and Share alike and to their heirs and assigns aforesaid.
- Item I give Bequeath and Devise to my Loveing Daughter Margrat my Plantion {Plantation] on the South fork of the Yadkin River Which I Bought of Close? Thomson, and one third part of my Personal Estate to her and her Heirs and assigns forever.
- Item I give Bequeath and Devise to my Loving Daughter Elisabeth the plantation Whereon I now Live Including that i Bought of John McElloraieth and George Kern and also the piece of vacaint land I Entered adjoyning to the same, and the Residue of my personal Estate to her and her Heirs and assigns for Ever~
- Item I give Devise and Bequeath to my Loveing Daughter Margrat afore named my Plantation Which I Bought of James Thomson, and Entered and Surveyed the same ___, I alow the Deed to Issue in her name, and also my small? Entry and Survey on Third Creek, joyning Jonathan Boons land, and to her Heirs and Assigns for Ever and also my Plantation I bought of Alexander Douglas to her and her Heirs and assigns forever ~
- Lastly I Nominate ordain and appoint, my Loveing Wife Mary, Samuel Young, and Thomas McKay my Executrix and Executors of this my Last Will and Testament Hereby Revoking, and Disanuling all other and former Wills, Testaments, legacies, Bequests, Devises and Executors, by he heretofore named.
