ORIGIN: Cold Norton, Essex.
MIGRATION: 1635 on the Blessing (on 17 June 1635, "Thomas King," aged 21, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the Blessing [Hotten 93]).
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admitted to Scituate church on 25 February 1637/8 [NEHGR 9:280]. After the departure of Rev. John Lothrop in 1639, Thomas King adhered to the faction that supported Rev. William Witherell against Rev. Charles Chauncy and at an early date was made Ruling Elder of the Witherell congregation [Scituate Hist 59-90].
FREEMAN: … Admitted Plymouth Colony freeman, 1 June 1658 (as "Mr. Thomas Kinge") [PCR 3:137]. In Scituate sections of Plymouth Colony lists of 1658, 29 May 1670 and 4 June 1689 [PCR 5:275, 8:198, 204].
BIRTH: Baptized at Cold Norton, Essex, 24 February 1613[/4?] [NEHGR 62:xxi]. (He was aged 21 on 27 Jun 1635 [Hotten 93]).
