William Brooke, aged 20, and Gilbert Brooke, aged 14, sailed from England in the Blessing, John Lester, Master, in 1635, "having brought Cert from the Minister & Justices of their Conformitie being no Subsedy Men, tooke oaths of Alleg: & Supremacie." They are entered on the passenger list with destination Marshfield, and arrived in Boston in August 1635.

Gilbert came to Scituate with his brother William. In 1638 he was in the family of Mr. William Vassall. Later, his residence was on the south of Colman's hills. He sold his house to Robert Crossman of Taunton in 1652. In 1675 he kept a garrison at Gov. Josiah Winslow's house in Marshfield. He was at Rehoboth 1679-1683, one of a committee in 1683 "to treat with the Rev. Samuel Angier, concerning his settlement in the ministry there".

Left London in the ship Blessing in 1635. The William listed before him in the passenger list is probably his brother.
