Austin, 1988, there is the following commentary on Thomas Hopkins: ! "THOMAS HOPKINS b. prob. Truro; d. there bet. 23 Jan. and 5 Feb. 1754. ! He m. Truro 10 Feb. 1724/5 DEBORAH BICKFORD, b. Eastham 2 Feb. 1705/6; d. prob. Truro after 23 Jan. 1754; dau. of Jeremiah and Hanna (Young) Bickford. ! The will of Thomas Hopkins of Truro, dated 23 Jan. 1754 and proved 5 Feb. 1754, mentioned wife Deborah; sons Samuel and Thomas, who were to provide for the support of the children under 21: Jeremiah (youngest son), Michael, Caleb, Hannah, Rebecca, Apphia, Deborah, Mary and Sarah. ! On 11 July 1759 guardians were appointed as follows: Constant Hopkins of Truro for Sarah Hopkins, Ambrose Dyer of Truro for Mary Hopkins and Ephraim Lumbard of Truro for Caleb Hopkins. ! Heirs surviving on 27 March 1760 at division of realty of Thomas Hopkins, late of Truro, were Thomas Hopkins (second son), Samuel Hopkins (eldest son), Caleb Hopkins (youngest son), Hannah Lewis (wife of John of Billingsgate Precinct, eldest dau.), Deborah Hopkins (fourth dau.), Rebecca Covil (wife of Philip of Billingsgate, second dau.), Apphia Hopkins (third dau.), Mary Hopkins (fifth dau.) and Sarah Hopkins (youngest dau.)."
