    Thomas GRESWOLD, born about 1623. Thomas recorded by inscription at Merston [sic], St. Lawrence, Northants as having died by 1640... No issue.'

    While page 33 indicates that he died 'before 1640', page 34 indicates that he had died 'by 1640'. Like his older brother John, he may have died in 1640.

    'In Bridge's History of Northamptonshire, I:183, sub Merston St. Lawrence, one may find the inscription on the brass in the church copied, in Latin. It shows that Thomas and John, sons of Edward Greswould, Esq., died by May 1640.'
