This volume clarifies many of the questions about the English Griswold ancestors, namely:

  1. Edward Griswold of Killingworth, CT was son of George Greswold by his first wife Dousabel (possibly Leigh).
  2. Matthew Griswold of Windsor, CT was son of the same George Greswold, but by his second wife, Honora (possibly Pawley).
  3. Francis Griswold of Cambridge, MA was the son of Clement Greswold, a second cousin of George Griswold.
  4. Michael Griswold of Wethersfield, CT was a distant cousin of Edward, Matthew and Francis-- their common ancestor being a John Greswold 5-6 generations up.
