  • Cunningham, Thomas - entered service in Virginia; married 4/1776-7 to Phebe, Precketts Fort, on Monongalia River; in 1786 when residing near brother Edward on Bingamon Creek, Indians killed soldier's 4 children & captured wife Phebe who was ransomed & later had more children; soldier died 6/2/1826; widow received Pension abt. age 79 in Lewis County, Virginia, 1839 when affidavit by her sister Mary Ann McKinney (b. 10/1765) of Wood County, Virginia; query letter in file states soldier born in Ireland 1761, married Phebe Tucker & entered service in Culpeper County, Virginia. R713.
