Taken 31 October, 1745, by Samuel Messenger and David Ensign, Jr. Also, another piece of land lying in New Hartford, being 6 acres and 30 rods. Apprised 30 December, 1745, by William Baker and David Ensign at £6-02-06.

    Court Record, Page 49—18 August, 1744: Adms. granted unto Mary Clapp, widow and relict, who gave bonds with Robert King, of Hartford, of £600.

    Page 63 (Vol. XV) 15 April, 1748: An account of Adms. was now exhibited in Court by Mary Clapp, widow. Accepted. This Court order distribution, viz.:

    To Mary Clapp, the widow, £40-06-05; To the heirs of Oliver Clapp, their double share, 32-05-03; To Elijah and Thomas Clapp, to each, 16-02-08; And to the heirs of Mary Clapp, alias Waters, 16-02-08

    And appoint Thomas Richards, Jonathan Steele and Thomas Wells, distributors. Also, this Court order the sd. distributors to set out to Mary Clapp, widow, her dowry, and make return to this Court."
