    Thomas Bancroft [#31], s/o Thomas Bancroft [#13, p. 94:314, and Lydia (Emery) Dean], b. Reading 26 Sep 1721, d. 2 Oct 1763, m. 12 Jan 1742 Phoebe Wardwell. "The will of Thomas' Bancroft, dated 28 Sept. 1763 and entered for probate 28 Nov. 1763, mentioned his wife Phoebe, who was executrix, and bequeaths to son Daniel 'all my carpentry tools of every sort'; to son William 'my gun'; to sons Benjamin, Jonathan, and Jacob; to daughter Phoebe, 'a widow' [sic, b. 1751 so too young to be a widow, this is a misreading, see abstract below]; to daughter Mary. Item: 'I give unto my dutiful son Thomas Bancroft my Great Bible at his grandmother Damon's death [from text, p. 94:314: the father's mother, Lydia (Emery) (Dean) Bancroft m. (3) Joseph Damon]; also my cordwainer or shoemaker tools of every sort; also I give unto my said son one half of his wages for his present year's work when the years service shall be completed to enable him to clothe himself at the age of twenty--one years.'"

Wife Phebe to be executrix.
