Deed Book 7, page 142, Feb 1760, records the purchase and sale of his land in Amelia County, VA before going to Albemerle County, VA where on Aug 9, 1768, Thomas & Susannah sold to Thomas Mitchell 400 acres of land in Rich Cove.
August 9, 1768, Thomas Applin and his wife, Suzannah of Albemarle County, Virginia, sold to Thomas Marshall 400 acres in Albemarle County in the Rich Cove. [Records of Albemarle County, Deed Book 4, p. 534]
Albemarle County Deed Book 4, page 534. April 12, 1780, Thomas Appling sold to Bezaleel Maxwell for 1200 lbs current Virginia money, 250 acres of land a tract or parcel of land containing 250 acres in Albemarle County, which was the whole remaining part in his possession of a larger tract of land containing 400 acres primarily, purchased by him of George Douglas. [Records of Albemarle County, Deed Book 7, p. 435].

Will Transcript

I, Thomas Appling of Wilkes county, State of Georgia, being of sound in body, do declare my last will and testament to be as.....that when death does summons my body away named trustees see that I am decently buried. My funeral charges paid with all my lawful debts paid out of my estate which I desire to be sold and the above mentioned debts to be paid, the balance be equally divided between my children.
I leave to my children, Joel Appling, Thomas Appling, David Appling,. Heirs, Elizabeth Laurance, Martha Douglas, Mildred Green, Susan Harris. What I have let my son Joel Appling have in Horse Flesh and money and every other thing given to him never to be called up on by any of my children. This is my will. and I do nominate constitue and appoint for Joel Appling, James Muckelroy, and executor to this my last will and testament. Where of I have been unto set my name and seal on the 19th of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred.
