The area reserved was 5 acres fronting Reserve Street. The Eaglehawk Old Monumental Section is laid out in orderly rectangular plats. It has all denominations and a Paupers section. There are many magnificent trees lining the roadways such as Bunya Pines, Morton Bay Figs, Oak, Hoop Pine, Canary Island Pine and Silky Oak. The first recorded burial at the Eaglehawk Cemetery is that of 21 year old John Edmond McDonough. He was interred in Grave 1 Section C on 6th July 1864. Today there is still a monument standing that was erected in his memory. There have been 6 Sextons live in the Sextons Residence formerly located near the front gates of the old monumental section. The cottage was built in the 1870's and was demolished in the 1970's.

    CRUMP- The many friends of the late Mr. Theophilus Crump will regret to hear of his death on Friday, after a trying illness, at the age of 76 years. The deceased was a highly respected resident of Eaglehawk for 40 years. He leaves a wife, three daughters, and four sons to mourn their sad loss. The funeral yesterday to Eaglehawk Cemetery was attended by many friends and relatives. The casket covered with flowers, was carried to the gave by Messrs. M. Powell, F. Fitzpatrick, G. Davey, and H.Hall. Mr E.T. Holman held services at the home and grave, and Mr. Thamos Sayer carried out the mortuary arrangements. Reference number: NPC003

This is the last Will and Testament of Theophilus Crump, I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Catherine Crump my house and furniture, situated at Barrell St , Eaglehawk, unto my son Herbert Norman Crump my gold pin unto my son Walter Thomas Crump my watch and chain unto my son Clarence Crump cart and harness unto my son Cyril Crump my fishing Rod and lines and ferrets All monies left to be divided equally to all my own children and wife. After th e death of my wife (Catherine Crump) the house and furniture to be sold, and equ allly divided amongst the family. And I hereby appoint Herbert Norman Crump my sole executor of this my Will in Wi tness where I have hereunto set my hand this second day of November in the yea r of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and twenty six signed by the said the Te stator and by hime declared to be his last Will and Testament in the presence o f us present at the same time who in our presnce at his request and in the prese nce of each other hereunto subsribed our names witnesses - Richard Henry Harve y and Richard Glen Harvey.
