A Tin Wedding

The tin wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Nelson was appropriately celebrated last evening at their cosy home on North Main Street. Quite a large number of friends participated in the joyous affair, and the presents were numerous, neat and appropriate.

Mr. Nelson, the candidate for treasurer, was the incumbent of that office last year, and performed its duties satisfactorily. He is well known and quite popular.

Theo. Nelson had to sit on the fence yesterday at his home to escape gusts of mist, and after he got his dinner he got out through the bay window. Going downtown he was heard to say something about the blankety blanked house cleaning season and wishing that the month of May was blotted out of the calendar.

$5,000 a Year

Theodore Nelson is just now living on the sunny side of easy street, with no special worry or work except to draw his salary of $5,000. He has been appointed by Sam Chase, Recorder of Cook county, to the position of Deputy Recorder, at a salary of $2,500. He will also hold on to his job as secretary of the Democratic state central committee which pays him $2,500 a year. The many friends of Mr. Nelson in Decatur, will be glad to hear of his prosperity. But many will marvel that he did not get closer to Altgeld or Senator Palmer.
