Thelma Ellen Richey Clevenger, 88, departed to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Lynd House in Muncie. She was born in Windfall, Indiana, on October 7, 1915. The daughter of John Franklin Richey and Laura Ellen Bogue Richey, she resided with her family and attended school in Clay Township in Howard County. She moved to Delaware County as a young adult and has lived there since. Mrs. Clevenger was employed at General Motors for several years. She attended Living Waters Church and was loved by its members. Among her interests were sewing, ceramics, and sharing her passion for her Lord and Savior. Her family and many friends will miss her for her loving, giving, and caring nature. Thelma's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Marsha Love, (husband, Don), of Muncie; son, Cletus Arnold, and daughter-in-law, Linda Hammer, of Muncie; her daughter-in-law, Sara Spence, of Columbus, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; Lynn Hammer, Michael Hammer, Richard Hammer, John Hammer, David Hammer, Stephen Hammer, Michael Love, Don Love Jr., John Love, Lori Clevenger, Tammy Clevenger, Nicki Clevenger, and Stephen Clevenger; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, her husband, Paul Clevenger, her son, Billy Gene Hammer, and three brothers, Roy, Pearl and Virgil Richey preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lynd House, 2410 E. McGalliard, Muncie. Rev. Bill McCoy will officiate.
