EDEN - Sylvia "Jean" Terry Jeffries, 76, of 153 Pratt Road, passed away Wednesday night, July 1, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, at Hampton Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Reidsville.

Mrs. Jeffries was born March 13, 1933, in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Clyde and Mae Morrison Terry. She was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church where she participated in the "Willing Workers". Mrs. Jeffries was a retiree of DuPont in Martinsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jeffries and grandchild, Amy.

Surviving are her children, Phyllis J. Meyer and husband, David, of Summerfield, Dewayne Jeffries and wife, Lesa, of Starkville, Miss., and Ken Jeffries and wife, Terri, of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Kate, Leah, Meredith, Maggie, and Libbie Jeffries, David and Jake Meyer; sister, Jacquelyn Harvey of Eden; and brother, Doug Terry of Eden.

A special thanks is extended to Rev. D. M. Dalton and his wife, Mickey; also to Judy and Mac Jones, Bud and Doris Jones, Steve and Sherry Grogan and the members of Hampton Heights Baptist Church for their continued love and friendship. Also a thanks to Jamie Jeffries for being there to lend a helping hand.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Sunday evening at Hampton Heights Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
