Oswego Palladium-Times, 28 Aug 1975: SYLVESTER J. KUNDELL Sandy Creek-- Sylvester J. Kundell, 80, of Route 11, died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital, where he has been a patient for three days. Born May 21, 1895 in Cohoes to Frederick and Mary Kundell, he attended school there. About 1917 he married Iva Runge. He later married Dorothy Durgge [!] Caufield in 1957 in Easton, Penn. He worked for the New York Central Railroad for 40 years at Three Mile Bay, Woodard and Chaumont, moving to the Pulaski area around 1921. He retired from the Lacona station in 1960. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and St. Francis Xavier Church. Surviving besides his wife are a son Edward of Richland; four grandchildren... Services will be held... Saturday at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home... Pulaski and... in St. John the Evangelist Church... Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pulaski.

Kundell, 80, of Route 11, a retired New York Central Railroad employe, formerly of the Chaumont-Three Mile Bay section, died Wednesday in Oswego Hospital where he had been a patient three days. The funeral will be Saturday... at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home... Pulaski, and... at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pulaski. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski... Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Durgee Caufield Kundell; a son, Edward, Richland; four grandchildren... Born May 21, 1895 at Cohoes, a son of Frederick and Mary Kundell, he attended schools there and around 1917 married Iva Runge. The marriage ended in divorce. He married Dorothy Durgee Caufield in 1957 at Easton PA. Mr. Kundell was employed by the New York Central Railroad for 40 years. He worked at Chaumont, Three Mile Bay and Woodard until coming to this vicinity in 1921. He continued to work at the Lacona station until retirement in 1960.
