Sydney M. Lewis 84 years old Woodville native and long time resident of California, died at his home in San Gabriel there on Friday September 6. He was a retired executive with the national roofing industry. Mr. Lewis was born in Woodville on October 31 1906, the son of the late Mr Lyttleton lewis and Mrs Lizzie Morris Lewis Folowing his graduation from the local high school Mr. Lewis went to work with the Richardson Roofing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, and latter was employed with Flint Kote Roofing Company in New York and then in California. Folowing his retirement from the company he served for a number of years as an adviser to the Asphalt Roofing Industry Association. Survivors include his wife Mrs Marion Brown Lewis of San Gabriel; one son Lyttleton Lewis of Novato, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs Mary L Lewis of Woodville and Mrs ELizabeth L Cain of Baton Rouge and three grand children*. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mrs Betsy Unruh
