"Recent research in England parish records turns up information that Susannah Edson was born Susannah Bickley in Warwickshire, England. Her sister (Margaret Bickley if I remember correctly -- I am working without my notes here) married William Awcotte, father of WIlliam (Awcotte) Orcutt, who came to America sometime in the latter half of the 1600s (exact date unknown, but we know he was here by 1663).This William Orcutt was born circe 1632 in Fillongley, Warwickshire, England, and Susannah (Bickley) Edson is his aunt."

March 1, 1638 "Samuel Edson and Susannah Bickley, both of Whittaker were married In this church by virtue of a license."

(Note;Whittaker (Whitacre) is a small parish adjoining Fillongley to the north east, about 1-2 miles from the birthplace of Samuel Edson.)
