Susanna (Hedges) Parkison's Death Certificate shows her mother's maiden name was Miller. The informant was probably her oldest daughter with whom she was living in Cosmopolis, Chelais County, Washington. She should have known her grandparents' names.

    DATE is so precise it is probably CORRECT. However, I do not know the source. It could be based on a tombstone. LOCATION is probably INCORRECT - None of the three censuses (1850, 1860, and 1870) indicate she was born in Ohio.

    This is consistent with the Virginia location given for Susanna (Miller) Hedges in 1850, 1860 as West Virginia was created from Virginia. In 1870 the directions may have been different....

    The answere West Virginia in 1880 is probably more accurate than later cenuses because information probably came from Susanna or her husband John Downey rather than from her children or their spouses.
