Susanna (Hedges) Parkison's Death Certificate indicates her father was John P Hedges. The informant was probably her oldest daughter with whom she was living in Cosmopolis, Chelais County, Washington. She should have known her grandparents' names.

Her birth in Indiana seems inconsistent with fact that John P. Hedges lived and died in Pickaway County, Ohio. They might have lived just over the boarder in Indiana.

Research into the John P Hedges (1791-1877) who lived in Allen County, Indiana has eliminated him as a candidate for Susanna Hedges father. While he is the right age to be her father, his only surviving children in 1877 are all accounted for and living in Indiana. Susannah (Hedges) Parkison lived until 1910. She was in Coles County, Illinois (c1860-c1880), Cowley County, Kansas (c1890-c1900), then Grey's Harbour County, Washington (1910). The information I gathered on the Indiana John P Hedges is included under ID #5192.

  9. This would have seemed unlikely as first person was buried in the Reber Hill Cemetery in Walnut in 1877. However, Reber Hill, Walnut - East side T-8; .5 m South C-32 - Bodies from 13 small cemeteries have been moved into Reber Hill. In some cases records give name and name of the cemetery they were removed from.
