From Esther Follansbee Taylor Ladeau's notes: List siblings William, Charles, Lizzie, and John. Tell of Susan's parents moving from Hebron, NY, to Newfane, VT, by oxsled in winter! Mention that Susan worked in a bakery in Boston and also in a cotton mill in Lowell.

Since her marriage was in 1844, she probably worked in Lowell before that. Was she a "Lowell Girl" in one of the mills preserved in the historic park there?

  6. There are two entrances to the cemetery which have stone beside them. Use the southernmost (closest to Leominster center) entrance, opposite Morton St, to go to the Susan Follansbee grave. Drive straight in on Kendall Ave to a point between Houghton St and White St. The Follansbee stone is just beyond large ones with the names “Wetherbee” and “Kenney”. The stone appears newer than others from the same period.
  7. Sister Genette and Mother Susan Follansbee live next door 359 Pleasant St. Genette (Nettie) is listed as a paper box maker. (Esther reminisced about Aunt Nettie making the boxes at home.)
